History

This house was designed in 1949/50 by Harold E. Brown for Mr. and Mrs. James A. Leach.  The Powells, purchased the home in 1985 and undertook a major renovation ... opening up rooms, renovating side porch into a family room, added a large stack stone fireplace.

 

A complete upscale--kitchen renovation was completed in 2000.

In 2005- Home addition and renovation included: the Master Suite (with upscale bathroom, walk-in closets,); porch extension; bathroom renovation and closet update to Bedroom 2; bathroom addition and closet update to Bedroom 3; all new hardwood flooring; addition of an exercise room; craft room; laundry room and clothes chute; tiled hallway and new carpet in playroom and stairwell; attached house-garage.  The house was painted, added all new GutterGuard gutters, driveway stucco-stone capped wall and front walkway renovated; added drive way remote controlled-operated gate; a combination of concrete and stone drive w/stone entrance and accent strips, oversized two-car detached garage renovated from a carport.

 

Plantings include: Mature Maple trees, Crepe Myrtles, Dogwoods, Azaleas, Rhododendrons, Hydrangeas, Tulips, Roses, Heavenly Bamboo, Large Lilies, jonquils, Black-eyed Susans, Herbs.

 

Numerous HGTV film shoots have used this home as a location site.
